Hot Tub Information

During a hosepipe ban you are allowed to use a hosepipe to fill or top-up your hot tub, fish pond and swimming pool.

Some water authorities have imposed a hosepipe ban that restricts your use of hosepipes to wash cars, caravans and trailers and also bans watering your garden with a hosepipe, sprinkler or irrigation system. However, you are still allowed to refill or top-up your Hot Tub.

We recommend the water in your hot tub is changed according to BISHTA guidelines, and we encourage sensible use of water at all times - don't change the water in your hot tub unless it needs it. Consider draining out some water and topping-up with fresh water, to avoid a complete refill.

Water from your hot tub can be safely used to water your garden plants. Ensure you have let the chlorine levels drop first, and take care with delicate plants. If you are in any doubt, consult the supplier of your hot tub water care products.

Watering private gardens and allotments with a hosepipe, sprinkler, perforated hose, trigger hose, irrigation system or similar	Using a watering can to water gardens and allotments.

	Using a short length of hosepipe to fill containers
	Using a hosepipe to re-use wash water i.e. water from the bath or washing machine.
	Filling or topping up fish ponds, swimming pools and hot tubs.
	Using a hosepipe for commercial businesses (e.g. drain cleaning) that do not involve private car washing or garden watering.
